We take seriously the issue of safeguarding your privacy online. We exercise great care to secure your personal identifiable information. GovContracts uses SSL technology to ensure your privacy. Internally, we restrict access to personally identifiable information to employees who need access to the information in order to do their jobs. These employees are very limited in number, and are committed to our privacy and security policies. We take the extra step of having our employees execute comprehensive non-disclosure agreements with us, which provides explicit legal confidentiality protections. We review our Web security, and our security policy and practices, with employees on a monthly basis. Any employee who violates our privacy and/or security policies is subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination and civil and/or criminal prosecution.
Sharing of this Information
We do not share information about individual users with any unrelated third parties. In some cases, in order to complete a transaction with a third-party supplier, GovContracts may need to provide information to the vendor necessary to complete the transaction. In addition, we respond to subpoenas, warrants, or other court orders regarding information that is contained within our access logs concerning any member or visitor. We also reserve the right to release that information concerning a member who we believe is in violation of our content guidelines, even without a subpoena, warrant, or other court order. We cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our servers for illegal activities. We also reserve the right to report any illegal activity to law enforcement for prosecution.
It is GovContracts' corporate policy to be fully compliant with the CAN SPAM ACT of 2004. This means that we take seriously requests by users that no longer wish to receive communications from us. To discontinue receiving communications from us or to no longer take advantage of our service, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject line or send us a note to GovContracts, 1000 Cherry Ave, Suite #100, San Bruno, CA 94066. Users who choose to opt-out or unsubscribe will no longer have access to restricted areas of the site and will not be able to receive other communications from us even if requested by the user. However, should a user register again as defined above, this access will be restored and the registration will be qualified as a new registration according to our registration policy.
This site gives users the option to change and modify information previously provided. You can access "Your account" or send an e-mail with the words "Change Registration" in the subject line and your new information in the message to email@example.com.
Notification of Changes
If we are going to use your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you via e-mail. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post the notice we will also e-mail users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
